Green tomatoes contain high levels of glycoalkaloids such as tomatine, tomatidine, tomatidenol. Of these, tomatidine increases skeletal muscle and decreases inducible nitric oxide synthase and COX-2 expression. Also, green tomato increases collagen expression and decreases MMP expression. So, we suggest that the green tomato extract is applicable for a potential cosmetic ingredient focused on anti-aging effect.
