Kem K is a preservative blend based on the globally accepted cosmetic preservatives Phenoxyethanol and Potassium sorbate. This optimised combination provides broad spectrum antimicrobial protection to a large range of personal care formulations with slight acid pH. Kem K represents a mild alternative in cosmetic preservation, may replace paraben-based blends and other questioned preservatives, offering high antimicrobial efficacy and lower in-use cost.
Kem K meets the more stringent demands of today’s market for personal care products, allowing the creation of formulations for worldwide distribution.
Kem K combines the antibacterial activity of Phenoxyethanol with the antifungal activity of Potassium sorbate. This is a well balanced combination of actives highly effective against Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria, yeasts and moulds.

    • Tolerates short heating process to 80°C

    • Use levels 0.5-1.2% alone
    • Globally approved in all products without restrictions EU, USA & Japan to 1.5%

    Kem K is a mild and skin tolerable preserving system for the antimicrobial protection of a variety of personal care products, particularly aqueous systems & emulsions. Typical cosmetic applications include:
    • Hair care: gels, shampoos, lotions, conditioners, mousses.
    • Body & face care: serums, tonics, gels, lotions, creams, wipes.
    • Make-up: foundations, wipes, powders.
    • Shaving products: shave soaps, gels, aftershave balms, lotions, creams
    • Sun products: sunscreens, suntans, aftersuns.
    • Bath products: shower gels, bubble baths, handcleaners, intimate, oils, powders, wipes.
    • Baby care: shampoos, bath products, lotions, creams, oils, powders, wipes.
    • Raw materials: surfactants, vegetal extracts.
